Monster Mystery V1.1
Hey everyone, this is a new patch to Chapter 1! It goes over a bunch of bugs as well as adding some features that I believe will be necissary for the future- including saving while in a dungeon- but finally better!
IMPORTANT: This version includes some changes to the save feature. Because of that I recommend backing up your save data. If you don't already know, your save data is located at C:\Users\yourName\AppData\LocalLow\Bayden\Monster Mystery under the filename save.mmdata. You can back it up manually by copying it, or from in-game by going to Options -> Misc -> Save Data Options -> Backup Save Data. Though I've included somewhat of a safeguard (an auto-backup feature listed below), I just felt I should warn you! If you run into any problems with your save data being corrupted, please reach out!! And in the situation that happens, the auto backup is your last successful save before it attempted (and failed to save), please fall back to it! Thank you!
As always, if you save on this version, you cannot use your save file on earlier versions (like 1.0) ^vv^/
Monster Mystery V 1.1
Added:
- Added settings to change the pace of exploring
- 1. Game -> Multimon Delay: You can now remove the delay that makes multiple-monster-affecting-moves affect each monster one at a one.
- 2. Game -> Crit Slowmo: The new default settings makes critical hit slowmo only occur when the odds are low (20% or lower) and the damage it dealt is high (50% of max hp or more). This can be changed back to the old version (all critical hits cause slowmo) or disabled entirely (the critical hit slowmo never occurs)
- Monsters with an elemental res >=15 are finally immune to that elemental blight
- Saving your game in a dungeon is decently seamless and saves the current state of the floor and monsters much better (some flaws here and there but almost perfect)
- Added an autobackup that saves your last save game every time you save (I hope that makes sense lol) if you ever lose your save to some bug on my end, you can restore it by replacing save.mmdata with the saveAutoBackup.mmdata file (just rename it to save.mmdata to load it)
Fixed:
- Fixed a bug where defeat music would randomly play after already fading out
- Fixed a bug where character portraits would appear not flipped for a singular frame upon appearing
- Fixed a bug where NPCs and enemies could not hit a target just outside of the room they were in
- Fixed a visual bug where, when the last item in your Treasure Bag was removed and your pointer was there, it visually didn't reset back to slot 0 when the code did
- Fixed a bug where the Treasure Bag would be filled entirely by duplicates of the last item when saved
- Fixed a bug where your game would softlock when saving with a held item equipped, and then reloading and trying to remove the item (which resulted in irremovable items)
- Fixed a bug where NPCs and enemies could illegally move diagonally through walls under very specific circumstances
Tweaks:
- Somewhat tweaked UI anchors so the game works a little better at whacky resolutions (only matters if you're forcing it to run in a resolution that isn't 16:9)
- Dungeon seed is now seperate from action seed, so dungeons generate the same layout every time on the same seed, regardless of what RNG happens on the floor
- While on classic difficulty, friendly monsters including the player take slightly less damage from damage over time effects like poison and the damage proc occurs slightly slower

V1.2 will be in the works in the meantime, including some more much-needed fundementals. I will do my best to get the game to have adjustable axis controls (meaning you can get the navigation (joystick and d-pad) to work with your controller if it wasn't already), the ability to push friendly monsters, and maybe some other things!
